However, there\u2019s some truth to it. After all, it\u2019s well-known that effective future-ready ERP systems don\u2019t come cheap. But this hesitancy has lately become an insurmountable barrier for those looking to stay competitive, given that ERP is the lifeblood of teams like procudtion, marketing, sales, finance, facilities and warehouse management, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since 2019, enterprises have also been under a lot of pressure to optimize their operations amid remote working conditions. Hence, it\u2019s no surprise that they\u2019re spending more than ever before, enabling IT efficiency. Gartner has even predicted that global IT spending would reach $4.5 trillion, which marks a sharp increase of 5.5% in 2022, with the enterprise software at 11.5%. And ERP systems are poised to be at the front of the center of new technology adoption.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So, what\u2019s on the near horizon for them?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Fully mobile ERP<\/strong> &#8211; A new Uberization era<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Cloud acceleration <\/strong>&#8211; From good-to-have to must-have<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Advanced data analytics <\/strong>&#8211; A brave new spreadsheet-less world<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Real-time data <\/strong>&#8211; Strike when the information is hot<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hyperautomation &#8211; <\/strong>Doing more with less<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>AI <\/strong>&#8211; Still the latest trend in ERP<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Final thoughts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Even just a few years ago, it seemed reasonable that enterprises could get away from undertaking ERP modernization initiatives by playing the\u00a0<em>\u201cSoftware is too expensive\u201d<\/em>\u00a0card.
